Unlike most of my friends, I loved going to church
when I was a kid.It gave structure to my
life. And it had lots of rules. I was always
good at rules. It wasn’t until I was in college
that I started asking the hard questions about the rules.
I’ll never forget the look of pride on my dad’s
face when I told him I was going to the
seminary. But it just didn’t work out.I’ll never forget
the look of disdain when I told him I was
leaving the priesthood to become an accountant. He hated accountants.
