The following essay is an early draft of ideas that was to eventually go into The Caliban Complex, a psychoanalytical study I wrote in October 1988. I wrote these draft notes in the fall of 1985 while I was working at Hogan & Hartson. I showed the notes to Charles Leon Green, Esq. with whom I worked at Hogan. Mr. Green dismissed my ideas. People always dismiss my ideas. Obviously, The Caliban Complex predates my employment at Akin Gump, which began in March 1988. Note my preoccupation in 1988 at age 31 with the issue of father idealization.
